Shipped in bitches: your girl is met at Toronto International airport, and driven the 60 minutes to our home.  At our place she is given privacy, indoor housing with soft bedding and clean water, and not kenneled with or in general proximity to our own dogs.  Every effort is made to keep her happy, content, and unstressed.  She will be fed her own diet (on request), walked, and affectionately played with daily in a securely fenced environment.  Her breedings will be managed professionally and in consultation with you.  We know that a pregnant bitch is the goal, and we make sure your girl is properly and well serviced with viable fresh semen.  Our studs are not permited to "rape" bitches.  Girls that refuse to stand for natural breedings are AI'ed in consultation with their owners.

The Afterglow: Following cessation of mating and at everyone's convenience, your girl is scheduled on the best return flight home in consultation with you, and delivered back to Toronto airport.  International flights must be prepaid and require a health certificate from our vet (and current vaccination information that you provide).  Domestic bitches can be shipped home collect, and without any special paperwork.

Shipped Fresh Chilled Semen: Although our choice is always to have the bitch here for natural breedings or immediate insemination of freshly collected semen, we do offer shipped fresh chilled semen service on all of our boys through the expertise of our repro specialist Dr. George Hillis of Oshawa, Ontario who is located less than one hour from Toronto International airport.  In our experience using the fresh chilled semen has worked out to be just as, or more expensive than shipping the bitch and involving more variables, but we fully realise that there are girls that do not travel well and so we are happy to offer this service when required. For shipping semen requests, owners of pre-approved bitches should contact us on the first day of the bitches season so that arrangements can be made for collection and shipping. FRESH CHILLED SEMEN SERVICE

 Don't want to ship your girl?  Yes, we do offer a Fresh Chilled semen service via our Repro Vet (Symbiotics and ICG qualified) DR. George Hillis of Oshawa, Ontario.

Below you'll find an approximate breakdown of the vet charges involved on the stud's end, and these were current in September 2002.  Bear in mind all my vet's prices are CANADIAN, so will convert to significantly less in US dollars (about 60 cents on the dollar actually):

*Semen collection fee (includes sperm count, and all necessary semen processing and paperwork) - per collection: $225.00

*ICG fresh chilled semen transport kit - $140.00 per kit

*Semen extender (enough for 2 collections) - $50.00

Semen gets shipped out by Fed-Ex overnight/1-day service right from the vet's office, and it's usually well under $50.00 per shipment to points in the US and Canada. Apparently not all locations in the US qualify for overnight delivery on Saturday - would have to check the area code of the receiving veterinarian.

Frozen Semen (stored in both Canada and USA): Dr. Hillis has frozen semen on some of our boys, and will be collecting others on an ongoing basis.  We will be offering this as an option to Domestic and International breeders on a case by case basis - please inquire with us if you are interested in accessing frozen semen.  Some of our boys also have semen frozen at Dr. Hutchinson's clinic in Ohio, USA.  Please contact us for more details.
