Meet the Princess of Vanderbilt
"Fallon"was the "leftover" puppy in her litter of 9.  From this breeding we wanted to keep a boy (always a soft spot for the boys), and 'almost' sold Fallon several times, but she was passed over by many buyers - pet and show alike, and another where we decided the home was failing afterall and returned the deposit.  After these episodes we woke up and realized that maybe this baby was destined to stay.  Not to mention she was the LAST available Mesa daughter ever, and her sire ZJ was well into his Veteran years.

Fallon went to her first dog show (Kars, ON) on her 6 month birthday, and won Best of Breed, BPIG, and a Group 4th competing amongst some of the Top Working Group competition in the Country.  She finish her weekend with 7 points.  Two Samoyed breeders tried to buy her over the course of the weekend.

Fallon's second dog show weekend she made history by taking an all breed Best In Show at 6 months, 8 days of age. If you know of a Samoyed awarded a North American BIS younger than that, please let us know! Fallon's win details are under July 2002 News.

Fallon's third weekend outing to the shows earned her 4 more BPIG's, 2 BPIS's, and a Group 3!!

Showing only 5 months as a puppy Fallon was a multi breed winner, multi Group placer (9), multi Best Puppy in Group (23) and multi Best Puppy in Show (11) recipient.  Sharing the limelight in 2002 with not one but TWO other Vanderbilt puppies, "Heero" (BISS Can.Am.Ch. Vanderbilt's Warpaint - #2 Samoyed in Canada) and "Claire" (Multi BIS,BISS Can.Am.Ch. Vanderbilt Snowghost So Easy - #3 Samoyed in Canada).  Fallon herself ended up #5 Samoyed in Canada, and the #1 Samoyed in Canada for 2002 (Ch. Snowghosts Hot Rod Lincoln) was sired by BIS,BISS Can.Am.Ch. Vanderbilt's Downtown Lights.  Looks like it was mostly a family affair!

As a PRODUCER Fallon has exceeded all expectations as well!  We looked and looked and studied and contemplated how best to weave her outcrossed pedigree into another to produce an outstanding litter of puppies.  We were REALLY happy with the ZJ/Mesa combination that had produced Fallon and her Multi BIS litterbrother PYRO, but they were from ZJ's last litter.  Sadly he passed away a few months after the Mesa litter was born.  We set about finding the BEST ZJ son we could find and found him in Thunder Bay - a GORGEOUS male - who just happened to be out of a Shebaska momma.... Shebaska of course being the very bloodline we started with so many years ago, and which combined spectacularly well with the Wolf River blood and laid the foundation for Vanderbilt Samoyeds as it is known today.  Hip/eye/heart certified, this boy's name was "BJ" (Can.Am.Ch. Shebaska's Classic Charmer), and he was owned by John & Barb Thomson who so graciously agreed to fly him to Toronto for a honeymoon with the Princess Fallon.  Sixty three days later 'little' Fallon whelped 9 puppies easy as could be, and proceeded to raise them with just as much ease.  By this time people were familiar with the story that this beautiful girl had been up for grabs and no one had snatched her, so there were no shortage of reservations for her much anticipated babies.  Seven of these babies went forth to breeders/fanciers and are making their mark - even though they are still only yearlings!

Multi BIS,BPIS,BISS Can.Am.Ch. Vanderbilt's Playin' It Cool, "Fonzie" (CANADA - Elford)
Can.Ch. Vanderbilt's Playin' My Song (US ptd), "Celine" (CANADA - Elford)
Am.Ch. Vanderbilt's Playing The Game, "Ultima" (Virginia - Smith/Elford)
Am.Ch. Vanderbilts Caughtcha Lookin', "Cutter" (Texas - Godbee/Elford)
Vanderbilt Plays With Thunder, "Thor" (US 13 pts both majors, multi Best in Sweeps) (New York - Shanahan/Elford)
Vanderbilt's Snowmist Playmate, "Misu" (Export to Snowmist Kennel, Finland)
Multi BPIS Vanderbilt Anastasia Villaodon, "Ana" (Export to Villaodon kennel, Spain)

At this writing Fallon's second litter has just landed, sired by Multi BISS Am.Ch. White Magic's Rock Star.  We have 4 girls and 2 boys - most once again likely destined for far flug places with breed fanciers around the globe.  How very fortunate we are that Fallon never left.  We can't imagine not having her sparkling and perpetually optimistic personality around the place - not to mention all the other attributes she so freely passes on to her beautiful children!

Lots of pictures of Fallon are peppered throughout the 2002 News section, starting with July 2002.
