January 2007

Welcome back!  We're happy that you've decided to keep tabs on our exploits again throughout the year 2007.  It promises to be another exciting one!  "Fonzie" (MBIS,MBISS Can.Am.Ch. Vanderbilt's Playin' It Cool) has been leased on co-ownership to the German Kennel Sammantic of Barbara Bruns and Wolfgang Stamp, and will be campaigned in the USA by Nancy and Bryan Martin in '07.  You can keep track of his exploits at www.fonzie.ca.   Good Luck Fonzarelli!!  Here at home we expect to be kept very occupied with Fonzie's babies, most notably the precocious "Felix" (Vanderbilt's One Cool Cat), who is out of our Yacker/Mercy daughter "Star".   Felix has STAR QUALITY written all over him, and we think this might be the "Year of the Cat"! Also showing in '07 will be our other Fonzie kids "Joe Cool" and "Cool Rain", as well as the babies from his last litter whelped in Canada prior to departure, and out of our super-moving girl "Dory".  These babies are just cutting teeth now, so we'll be excited to watch them grow and develop!  Other kennels will also be debuting Fonzie kids - watch for Bobmardon, Linrosa, Dushanbe, and Polobar at the shows!  Fonzie's litterbrother "Thor" (Am.Can.Ch. Vanderbilt Plays With Thunder, co-owned with Kris & Jim Shanahan of NY) also sired his first litter in October 2006, out of our gorgeous "Yasmine" (Can.Am.Ch. Vanderbilt's Chyna Rose).  A beautifully consistent litter, watch for these babies in Canada, USA, Germany, and Argentina.  More Thor litter plans are on the drawing board for 2007.  While "The Fonz" is away, THOR will play!!

Jan. 15th - Hamburg, NY - We did a day trip to this show with "Forest" (V's Copenhagen Forest) and "Bouquet" (V's War of the Roses) and came home with WD/BW and WB for single points each under j. Trieber.

Jan. 20th, 21st - London ON (Elgin County KC) - A great weekend for Rockstar x Fallon son "Hardy" (Vanderbilt's Rock Hard Play Hard) going WD/BW/BB for 2 pts and a cut in group under j. Don Fitzsimmons on Saturday, then WD/BW/BB for 3 points under j. Lesley Chalmers (NZ) to complete his Canadian Championship (Vanderbilt homebred Can.Ch. #94).  Hardy's littersister "Lou Lou" also picked up WB for a point under j. Don Fitzsimmons and is close to finishing her title as well.
