Vanderbilt proudly introduces our new baby boy, "Boogie". Bred by Ellen Lopiano and Carrie Parma Collier and born of Samoyed Royalty, Boogie is out of the last litter sired by one of the breed's Premier stud dogs "Shanticlaire", and a young and amazing "Rockstar" daughter, "Adianna". I had the privledge of seeing some of the get out of the first combination of Shanticlaire and Adianna at the Pittsburg Samoyed Club's Specialty weekend mid 2007. I also saw Adianna in her mature glory, finishing her Am.Ch. title with a huge major in top competition AND winning the tough Brood Bitch class while about 4 weeks pregnant with Boogie, his three brothers, and one exquisite sister. As breeders we learned a long time ago that "quality is where you find it", and were thrilled about possibly getting a boy from the upcoming repeat litter. The beautiful Adianna whelped her puppies gracefully, her last gift before leaving us all - but not before giving Boogie a "kiss for luck". Ellen Lopiano, her mom Ann and their entire family applied uncommon dedication in hand-rearing the 5 precious babies. You can't begin to imagine what commitment this takes unless you've ever gone through it yourself. To Ellen and her remarkable support team, we thank you and the BREED thanks you. As a Rockstar daughter, Boogie's dam Adianna was registered as "White Magic's Piece of My Heart". "Piece of My Heart" was of course a big hit for female Rocker Janis Joplin. Janis played with many bands in her short but memorable career - the last of which was called The Full Tilt Boogie Band, made up of primarily Canadian musicians. It seems a fitting name for one of Adianna's last babies heading north of the border.
