WHEW, we've been BUSY....... Too busy in fact to update the website.  What follows is a quickie summary for December.  So far (it isn't over yet!!).  We'll fill in the blanks when we have more time.  Lots of pictures to come as well.  :)

Nancy Simmons.

Thursday: j. Eugene Haupt.  "Felix" 1st in BBE Dog, "Forest" 1st in OPEN Dog, "Yacker" BOS.

Friday (BUCKEYE SAMOYED CLUB SPECIALTY): j. Dr. Harry Smith. "Felix" WD/BW/Best BBE for a 5 point major to make a new Am.Ch.
finishing with FOUR majors (4+4+4+5), 3 of which were at Specialties/Specialty weekends.
"Merrily" (Vanderbilt Life Is But A Dream) takes WB for a 5 point major.  "Yacker" takes an AOM.
" Your dogs stand over the ground like they own it."
Thank you Specialty judge Dr. Smith for your kind words!

Saturday: j. Mrs. Terry De Pietro. "Forest" WD/BW for his SECOND 5 point major, and "Merrily" does a repeat for another 5 point major WB - and "Yacker" wins BOS.

Sunday: j. Mrs. Victoria Jordan-Leichner.  "Forest" and "Merrily" pull a repeat of their majors today to wrap up the weekend as both new Am.Ch.'s!!  Many thanks to Jan Warner for handling Merrily for us and to Merrily's co-breeder Cherie Smith.

In 2007 "Felix" (Vanderbilt's One Cool Cat) was entered in 6 US weekends/outings, ALWAYS 4 pt major entries or better, ALWAYS breeder/owner/handled showing in Puppy, 12-18 and finally BBE classes.  At 5 of these outings Felix came home with a 4 or 5 point major or major reserve - - - 4 of which were Specialty or Specialty-supported entries in several different parts of the US.  We think this kind of record accurately reflects a dogs 'actual' merits - especially when considered along with his young age and being shown totallyout of coat on the last two weekends.  Felix has impressed so many dog people in his short life - often romancing them with his daddy Fonzie's zest for life and attention!  Watch for him in the Specials ring when he grows up, and for some of his first babies in late 2008.  They're sure to have their own "bag of tricks" too!

2007 - It's a Wrap!

Writing this on the cusp of a brand New Year - we are very excited.  2007 was satisfying with so many highlights we barely know where to begin ... showing the #1 European Superstar "Yacker" who achieved multiple BIS's, #1 Sam in Canada, and  sired some VERY exciting youngsters; starting the stunning young "Fonzie" son and "Yacker" grandson, "Felix", who finished his Can. & Am. Championship titles with ease, won 2 CFC BIS's, took a BISS while still a puppy, grabbed a handful of BPIS's and had the opportunity to court some of the finest ladies in the the land(s) - parking some extremely promising babies on the ground.  Our boys "Hardy" and "Mister" travelling to Europe and producing beautiful babies there; breeding out to the handsome Echo boy "Prophet"; acquiring the gorgeous "Yunna" daughter "Lacey" from Cabaka kennels, and a co-ownership on both the incredible puppy "Boogie" and the amazing "Truman" daughter, "Secret" ofromWhite Magic/Valentino, seeing our 100th homebred Champion come to pass; all the incredible Specialty weekends; working with some of Samoyedom's best breeders ... and so much more.

We look forward to 2008 expectantly.  So many plans are in the works, breeding plans (always the first passion), exciting new puppies to debut - Charm, Waylon, Bingo, Dove and others out on co-ownerships.  "Fonzie" in Germany, "Raffi" in Spain, new "Yacker" litters, warming up "Felix"   A real breeding program is a labour of love, long duration and steady progression.  Rome wasn't built in a day!  As time passes the success of past plans are revealed, or not.  The peaks and valleys - all part of the dog breeder's world.  We're delighted that you're back and interested in our  pursuits.  As always, if you have something to share about "family" - do let us know!
