Vanderbilt's breeding philosophy emphasizing Global Breed Type together with beautifully sound structured/moving dogs has produced ~ 500 Champions world wide. Few dogs are shown enough beyond earning their Championship titles to test the waters of that elite Best In Show Ring. But for those that have, who push harder and higher, we are very grateful for their owners and handlers work ethic and dedication, and delighted to see them be inducted into this elite category of distinguished Samoyeds. We thank everyone that has seen and believed in our vision for the breed and worked tirelessly with us toward our goals of continuous breed improvement, genetic diversity, temperament and health. That group of people encompasses pet owners, show fanciers, breeders, handlers and judges. We also thank those breeders that have incorporated Vanderbilt genetics more recently through accessing our stud dogs. Though we are heading towards retirement (not quite done yet!) from breeding we hope we have ensured the future through cooperative partnerships with younger breeders. As well, and critically important, is our frozen semen bank of 25+ dogs which will be judiciously used in cooperation with the brightest and best breeders to help ensure our future vision of the Samoyed. Because commitment to a breed isn't just about winning big pretty ribbons. It's about mentoring and sharing what's been learned and built through decades of study, passion, challenges and application to task.
